About us

We are Johnny & Gerda Hoogerland and we warmly welcome you to our spacious bed and breakfast. After Johnny decided to end his professional cycling career, we thought about where our future would lie as a family. Gerda comes from a skating family and often went with her family to the Weissensee in Carinthia to skate in the winter. In January 2017, we travelled to Austria for the first time with the whole family to visit the Weissensee, where the family was also present at the time for the Alternative Elfstedentocht. During this period, we explored Carinthia and considered what we wanted exactly. We returned to the Netherlands with many impressions. Before making any concrete plans, we decided to visit the country in the summer as well. 

After our visit in the summer of 2017, we knew for sure that our future is in Carinthia. Our dream became reality in 2018. Together with our daughters Saar and Tess, we emigrated to Austria and opened our bed and breakfast!
